Veteran 49ers Defensive End Did Not Practice Friday

The San Francisco 49ers possess one of the NFL's best defensive units, and if their offence can even get close to catching up to them in 2022, this will be a very dangerous team come playoff time, but unfortunately, they've just struggled to stay healthy all over the field, particularly with that defensive unit.

In recent times, they've gotten healthier, but not quite all the way yet, as veteran defensive end Arik Armstead once again missed practice Friday, putting a potential return in Week 11 seriously in doubt, just two days before the team take on the division rival Arizona Cardinals.

Armstead is in his eighth year at the NFL level, and over that time, he's racked up 269 tackles, 28.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 6 passes deflected, and while he never draws the headlines of his teammates, he's been a solid piece for this team for quite some time now. Armstead has played in just 3 games thus far in 2022, and the defence has been solid without him, so if they can find a way to get him back on the field, it would give them a major boost ahead of a potential playoff push.
