Vikings Sign Veteran Tight End To Practice Squad

The Minnesota Vikings made one of the biggest move at the 2022 NFL Trade Deadline when they dealt for Lions star tight end T.J. Hockenson, and in the two games he's played for his new squad, he has been incredibly effective. Unfortunately for the Vikings, Irv Smith remains on Injured Reserve, so to add depth to the position, today, the team went out and signed veteran James O'Shaughnessy to the practice squad, marking his fifth team in the NFL.

O'Shaughnessy was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, and has spent time with New England, Jacksonville and Chicago, but unfortunately, he was never able to take the next step into becoming a starter at the NFL level.

Over that time, O'Shaughnessy has racked up 112 catches for 1,108 receiving yards to go along with 3 Touchdown's, and while there's a good chance he may not play a snap for the Vikings, he will serve as fantastic depth for a team that sits in a solid playoff spot in 2022.
