Eagles Place Cornerback On Injured Reserve

The Philadelphia Eagles have suffered their first loss of the 2022 NFL season to the division rival Washington Commanders, and it's not the only bad news of the day, as they earlier officially placed cornerback Avonte Maddox on Injured Reserve, meaning he'll miss at least the next four games.

Maddox has played in six games thus far in 2022, registering 1 interception, 27 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery, and despite the fact that he's often overlooked due to the star duo of Darius Slay and James Bradberry, he's been a very solid player for them over the past four and a half seasons.

Despite the loss tonight, the Eagles are still one of the toughest teams in the NFL, with a deep talent pool at each and every position, and while Maddox will be a massive loss, he should be back by the end of the year and ready to help this team in their playoff push.
