Carolina Panthers Wide Receiver Injures Ankle

The Carolina Panthers pulled off one of their most impressive wins of the season by beating the Seattle Seahawks 30-24 in Week 14, but they may have suffered an injury to one of their biggest stars in the process. Wide receiver DJ Moore will undergo tests today to determine the severity of an ankle injury sustained in yesterday's game. Moore played all but three snaps on the Panthers offense but failed to haul in any of his three targets. It's possible the ankle injury hindered him throughout the day.

Moore's absence could sabotage a Panthers squad who are somehow still in contention for the NFC South crown at 5-8. Moore leads the team with 605 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. The Panthers could quite easily take the division if they win out, but any unavailability from Moore could make that a long shot.

Moore initially joined the Panthers as the 24th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. He quickly rewarded their investment, totalling 4313 receiving yards in his first 63 appearances and logging three straight 1000-yard seasons from 2019 to 2021. His solid play earned him a three-year, $61.88 million extension from the Panthers earlier this year.
