Chicago Bears Clear Quarterback Fields for Week 15

The Chicago Bears will have their star quarterback in action when they host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15. Quarterback Justin Fields did not appear on the team's final injury report despite missing time this week with an illness, indicating he has been cleared to play in Sunday's game. Fields missed practice Wednesday with an illness but was a full participant Thursday and Friday. He missed one game earlier this season with a shoulder injury, a Week 12 31-10 loss to the New York Jets.

Despite the Bears' 3-10 record, Fields has been one of the most thrilling young players in the league this year thanks to running ability the quarterback position has seldom seen. He's on pace to clear 1000 yards rushing this season, a feat only ever accomplished at the quarterback position by Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson. The Bears rank 19th in scoring this year, so there's a case to be made it isn't all that effective, but there's no doubt it's exciting.

Fields entered the league as the Bears' 11th overall pick. As tantalizing as his running ability is, he'll need to develop as a passer for the Bears to eventually compete under him: he has only won five of his 22 starts, and the Bears rank last in the league this year in interception percentage, sack rate, and passing yards per game.
