Washington Commanders Clear 2 Running Backs for Week 15

The Washington Commanders should have plenty of choices in the backfield for their Week 15 matchup with the New York Giants. The team didn't list running backs Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson on their final injury report, indicating both will be good to go for the Commander's Sunday Night Football showdown.

Robinson and Gibson both logged limited participation in every practice this week, Robinson with a quadriceps injury and Gibson with a foot injury. Both played in the Commanders' last game before the bye, a Week 13 20-20 tie with the New York Giants.

Robinson and Gibson are the Commanders' two leading rushers, so their presence will be critical in what figures to be a hard-hitting rematch against the Giants. The pair combined for 135 rushing yards on 30 carries in the last matchup, and Sunday's game could easily decide which of the two teams makes the playoffs this year. Both teams are 7-5-1 and competing for a Wildcard berth.

Robinson joined the Commanders this year as their 98th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. He survived a senseless offseason shooting to return in Week 5 and rush for 563 rushing yards in his last nine appearances. Gibson was drafted 66th overall in 2020. He has proven himself a solid runner and adept receiver out of the backfield, compiling 3214 yards from scrimmage over 43 career games.
