Commanders Running Back Suffers Sprain In Week 16's Loss

The injury occurred in Week 16's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said that running back Antonio Gibson is dealing with an undisclosed ''sprain'' and will be monitored closely during Week 17 prep.

Rivera declined to reveal what body part Gibson injured on Sunday, but he did say his injury was the reason Jonathan Williams saw more playing time in the team's ugly loss to the 49ers.

The exact nature and severity of the twenty-four-year-old's injury is still unknown, but this week's practice reports will give us a much better idea of his status for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

In 15 games this season, Gibson has rushed 149 times for 546 yards and three touchdowns, along with 46 receptions for 353 yards and two touchdowns on 58 targets.
