Falcons QB Likely Headed To Injured Reserve

The Atlanta Falcons 2022 season started off so well, but has gone down hill in recent times, and while Quarterback Marcus Mariota had a solid start, it became more and more clear as the season rolled on that he's not up to par as a starting Quarterback in the NFL in 2022.

Now, the team have officially moved forward following their bye with rookie Desmond Ridder as starting QB, but at this point, it looks like the Falcons starter for most of this season will head to Injured Reserve, ending his 2022 campaign.

While his stats on the year (61.3 completion %, 2,600 All-Purpose yards, 19 overall Touchdowns and 9 Interceptions) don't look too bad, this is a team that's looking towards the future, with Ridder, Drake London and Kyle Pitts as the future of the offence, so hopefully, Mariota can settle into a backup role going forward, or find a role elsewhere.
