New Orleans Saints Sign Veteran Running Back To 53-Man Roster

The New Orleans Saints season has been a major struggle thus far, with sub par play across the board combined with plenty of injuries, and it's led to a last place standing in the struggling NFC South, but has also led to increased opportunities for some veterans.

One veteran that is now going to get a shot for New Orleans is David Johnson, who has been signed to the active roster following the injury suffered by Mark Ingram in the disappointing loss to Tampa Bay last time out, and while Alvin Kamara will continue to get the majority of touches, Johnson should play a key role against Atlanta.

In his career, Johnson has rushed for 4,043 and 39 Touchdowns, as well as 2,769 receiving yards and 18 Touchdowns, and while his days of being a starting back in the NFL are certainly over, he could play a key role for a Saints team that are somehow still alive in the division race, but will need a massive win in Week 15.
