Las Vegas Raiders Place Linebacker on IR

The Las Vegas Raiders suffered yet another fourth-quarter collapse when the Los Angeles Rams fought back to top them 17-16 on Thursday Night Football, but they have more than just humiliation to reckon with in the aftermath. The team placed linebacker Jayon Brown on injured reserve with a hand injury. At 5-8, the Raiders are unlikely to make the playoffs, so the mandatory four games Brown will miss on IR will effectively end his season. He totalled 45 tackles in eight appearances for the Raiders this year and earned a brutal 40.2 overall grade from Pro Football Focus for his efforts.

Brown's exit will spare him the final month of the Raiders' schedule and whatever other crushing loss they have in their future. The Raiders have lost an incredible eight of their nine games by one score, including three by two points or less.

Brown joined the Raiders earlier this year following five years with the Tennessee Titans. He has started 45 of his 74 career appearances, notching 9.5 sacks and four interceptions to go along with his 430 total tackles. He is set to be an unrestricted free agent following this season.
