Los Angeles Rams Center Out for the Season

The Los Angeles Rams will be without yet another starter for the remainder of the regular season. Head coach Sean McVay declared center Brian Allen out for the year following a calf injury. Allen sustained the calf injury early in the Rams' 24-12 loss to the Green Bay Packers, exiting after only two snaps. He had started seven games this year, playing every single offensive snap.

Allen's loss is yet another unlucky development in a nightmare season for the Rams. They're already without quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp for the rest of the year, and perennial All-Pro Aaron Donald is also currently out with an ankle sprain. At 4-10, the Rams are already eliminated from the playoffs and appear on pace for one of the worst follow-up seasons for a Super Bowl champion in NFL history.

Allen initially joined the Rams as their 111th pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has started 32 games for the team since. He signed a three-year, $18 million contract earlier this year to keep him on the team through 2024.
