NFL Announces AFC Players of the Week for Week 13

The NFL revealed its AFC Players of the Week for Week 13, and they include a young quarterback extending his streak of success over an AFC powerhouse and a veteran edge rusher finally coming through for his new team.

On offense, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow takes home the honors for his excellent play in a 27-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Burrow netted 279 passing yards on 32 dropbacks while adding 46 rushing yards on 11 attempts, totalling three touchdowns on the day. Burrow also delivered in the clutch, converting 7/11 third downs, including a 3rd and 11 to run out the clock after the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter. It was his third straight win over the Chiefs.

On defense, Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Chandler Jones earns his flowers for his 3.0 sacks, two tackles for loss, one pass deflection, and five quarterback hits in a 27-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. It was the first true difference-making game from Jones since joining the Raiders on a three-year, $51 million deal earlier this year; Jones had only registered a half-sack and one tackle for loss in his 11 previous games this season.

As for special teams, wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones gets the nod for his 76-yard punt return touchdown in the Cleveland Browns' 27-14 win over the Houston Texans. It was the first return touchdown of his career.
