NFL Rumors: Mac Jones Not Locked In As Patriots Starter For Rest Of Season

When asked by reporters this week whether quarterback Mac Jones will start the final three weeks of the season, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick refused to comment.

That's obviously not a good sign for Mac Jones, as the answer would seemingly be an obvious one, however, the fact that Belichick refused to comment on the matter definitely puts doubt into everyone's mind that we will continue to see Jones starting games.

Belichick's response was simply, ''Yeah, the plan is to try to beat Cincinnati.''

Mac Jones and the Patriots are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in which Jones threw for 112 yards while completing just 41.9 percent of his pass attempts.

If Jones does indeed get benched, Belichik would seemingly turn to rookie Bailey Zappe, who became a fan-favorite during his short time as the team's starter earlier this season.
