Saints Rule Out Talented Linebacker For Saturday's Game

He's been great when healthy this season.

Unfortunately, the New Orleans Saints won't have him this week, as they have ruled linebacker Pete Werner out for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Werner missed four games in a row after suffering an ankle injury during the Saints' Week 9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. However, he finally returned in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons, where he quickly picked up a new hamstring injury.

He'll now work towards being active for New Years Day's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 10 games this season, the twenty-three-year-old has 78 total tackles, two forced fumbles and three passes defended. He was the Saints' second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

In Werner's absence, Kaden Elliss should step back into an every-down role.
