Several Key Stars Miss Practice for Seattle Seahawks

At 7-7, the Seattle Seahawks will be fighting for their playoff lives when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs this Saturday, and they may have to get by without a few crucial players on offense. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett, running back Ken Walker III, and tight end Noah Fant were all absent for Wednesday's practice. Lockett suffered a hand injury in the Seahawks' Week 15 21-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He is expected to miss Week 16, at least. Fant and Walker sustained knee and ankle injuries in the same game, but their status remains unclear.

Lockett, Walker, and Fant are all key cogs in a Seahawks offense that has vastly outperformed expectations this season. Lockett leads all receivers on the team with his 964 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns, and Walker is the team's leading runner with 696 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. Fant isn't chopped liver, either: the former first-round pick ranks third on the team with 414 receiving yards.

The Seahawks rank seventh in scoring this season, but they'll have a hard time keeping up with the Chiefs if they're short three of their best offensive players. The Chiefs are the top-scoring offense in the league this year, and a Seahawks defense that has allowed the third-most points in the league is unlikely to put up much resistance.
