Tampa Bay Buccaneers Running Back Expected to Play in Week 14

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' rushing attack should be near the peak of its powers for their Week 14 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. Running back Leonard Fournette is expected to play today despite missing practice time this week with a foot injury. Fournette missed one game earlier this season with a hip injury but has otherwise fought through his various ailments to meagre success. He has totalled 511 rushing yards at 3.5 yards per carry over his 11 appearances this season for the Bucs' last-ranked running game, adding 347 yards at 6.1 yards per target through the air.

Fournette has ceded starting duties to rookie running Rachaad White of late, but he has still maintained a significant workload. Despite his injuries, he has piled up 31 touches over his last two appearances. White totalled 37 touches in those games.

Fournette joined the Buccaneers via free agency in 2020 as one of their many splashes following the acquisition of quarterback Tom Brady. He has totalled a relatively modest 1690 rushing yards at 4.0 yards per carry over his three seasons with the team, but he came in clutch during their 2020 Super Bowl run, tallying 448 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns in four postseason games.
