New York Giants Clear Running Back Barkley for Week 14

The New York Giants will have their superstar runner ready to go when they take the field against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, running back Saquon Barkley will play on Sunday.

Barkley has played every game for the Giants this season but was reportedly 50-50 to play today because of a neck injury. He has totalled 1296 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns over 12 games this season.

Barkley's availability should help the Giants today against the seemingly unstoppable 11-1 Eagles. Barkley has tallied 636 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns in six games against his NFC East rivals, and he'll need to play his best for the Giants to stand a chance. The Eagles are 7-point favorites to top the Giants on the road.

Barkley initially joined the Giants as their second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. After a sensational rookie season in which he compiled a league-leading 2028 yards from scrimmage, he battled through injuries over his next three seasons for a modest 2391 yards from scrimmage over 28 appearances. He has found his footing again this season in the final year of his rookie contract and could be in line for either a franchise tag or a substantial long-term contract this offseason.
