Keeping him around.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed running back Patrick Laird to a reserve/future contract.

Laird spent the entire 2022 season on the Buccaneers' practice squad.

The twenty-seven-year-old last played a game in the NFL in the 2021 season with the Miami Dolphins, rushing one time for four yards, along with three receptions for 17 yards.

For his three-year NFL career, Laird has rushed 76 times for 244 yards and one touchdown, to go with 36 receptions and 289 yards over 37 games, all with the Dolphins.

The former undrafted free agent of Cal State will now have a chance to compete for a larger role during the offseason.
