New York Jets Wide Receiver Could Be Cut This Off-Season

The New York Jets all of a sudden appear to be one of the most promising teams in the NFL on the back of an incredible 2022 NFL Draft that included the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, so this off-season, they'll be looking to clear cap space in order to support that talent with proven veterans.

One candidate for the team to potentially cut is Braxton Berrios, a talented wide receiver that signed a two-year deal this past off-season, but failed to live up to in 2022, and if the team were to cut him, it would save them $5 million.

After being an All-Pro kick returner in 2021, as well as a solid receiver, the team expected plenty out of him, but were able to get just 18 catches for 145 yards, so if cutting him can help them acquire a star QB and more help along their offensive line, it makes complete sense.
