Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rumors: Veteran QB Becoming Primary Target

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a major hole at the quarterback position, as the greatest of all-time, Tom Brady, announced his retirement. If the Buccaneers want to remain a playoff threat in 2023, they will need to make a notable splash at this position, and it appears that they have every intention to do. There are reports that Jimmy Garoppolo has now emerged as their primary free-agent target.

It is not surprising to hear that the Buccaneers want to bring in Garoppolo. After all, he has shown that he can be a difference-maker while performing at his best, and that remained the case even while in a sticky situation with the San Francisco 49ers last season. Therefore, a fresh start with a new team could make him do real damage, so the Buccaneers should take a chance on him.

In 11 games this season with San Francisco, the 6-foot-2 quarterback threw 16 touchdowns, 2,437 yards, and completed 67.2% of his passes. Overall, it was not a bad year at all for him, but let's see if he can do more with the Bucs if he ends up landing there from here.
