Washington Commanders Rumors: DT Being Linked to Pittsburgh Steelers

Daron Payne is coming off of the best season of his career, and it just so happens that he is now a free agent at the perfect time. As a result, he is in line to land a nice contract through free agency, and one team who reportedly is willing to give him just that is the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers have several positions that they need to focus on improving if they hope to be more competitive in 2023. Their defense is one area that needs a lot of help, so it makes perfect sense that Payne is on their radar. After all, he is exactly the kind of player that they need to help them compete against some of their toughest rivals.

Payne appeared in 17 games this season, where he set new career highs with 11.5 sacks and 64 combined tackles. This was also good enough for him to be named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his five-year career. As a result, this is the kind of high-impact player that the Steelers should be making a massive push for from here.
