Denver Broncos Sign Former Texans Cornerback

Bringing in a special teams ace.

The Denver Broncos have signed cornerback Tremon Smith to a two-year contract, according to reports from Denver 7 News and other sources.

Smith, who has previously played for four other teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans, is known for his versatility on the field.

While Smith entered the league as a cornerback, he has also played as a running back and special teams ace. He has excelled as a kick returner, averaging 23.9 yards per return during his time with the Texans and even scoring one touchdown.

In addition, Smith has played a few hundred snaps on defense and returned some punts

Although Smith is primarily expected to contribute on special teams for the Broncos, his versatility likely played a role in earning him the contract.

This will be his fifth team since entering the league as a sixth-round draft pick in 2018.
