Detroit Lions Sign Long Snapper

Jake McQuaide clearly impressed during his tryout with the Detroit Lions, as he has now earned himself a one-year, $1.317 million contract from them.

When it was announced that McQuaide was trying out for the Lions, it certainly seemed possible that he would get signed by them. After all, he is a veteran long snapper who has appeared in each of the last 12 NFL seasons. With that, he also has two Pro Bowl appearances on his resume, so that naturally made him stand out as a possible leader candidate for the Lions.

Over the course of his 12-year NFL career, McQuaide has played in 181 games split between the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys. Now, he is adding a third team to his resume with the Lions, and we will need to wait and see how much of an impact he can make for them from here. Overall, this is a low-risk move on paper.
