Detroit Lions Sign Veteran Lineabcker

Returning to the Detroit Lions.

Linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin has returned to the Detroit Lions after spending a year with the Houston Texans. The Texans released him this offseason due to financial reasons.

Despite struggling to find consistency with the Texans, Reeves-Maybin is known for making plays on both defense and special teams, and the Lions are happy to have him back.

Reeves-Maybin spent the first five years of his NFL career with the Lions before joining the Texans in 2022. During his final season with the Lions, he posted career highs with 82 tackles, four passes defended, and two forced fumbles.

However, he mainly played on special teams during his time with the Texans.

The 230-pound linebacker has signed a contract with the Lions for at least the upcoming season. Head coach Dan Campbell has spoken highly of Reeves-Maybin in the past and is likely looking forward to working with him again.

Over his six-year career, the 28-year-old has recorded 187 total tackles, 0.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and six passes defended across 87 games.
