San Francisco 49ers Sign Former Lions Edge Rusher

The San Francisco 49ers have signed former Detroit Lions defensive end Austin Bryant to a one-year contract, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Bryant, a former fourth-round pick, played for the Lions for four years and appeared in 33 games, recording 65 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two passes defended.

In 2021, he showed promise as a pass-rusher with 4.5 sacks in 14 games, but the Lions' defensive retooling pushed him down the depth chart in 2022.
With the 49ers, Bryant is expected to fill a rotational role similar to the one he previously held.
