Dolphins Running Back Wants To Return To Miami

Miami Dolphins running back Jeff Wilson expressed his desire to re-sign with the team for the 2023 season.

This follows Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier's statement that the team is open to re-signing Wilson and fellow impending free-agent running back Raheem Mostert, as well as potentially drafting a running back in earlier rounds if a good one is available.

Wilson was acquired by the Dolphins in a mid-season trade with the San Francisco 49ers, and he quickly became a valuable contributor to the team, rushing for 392 yards and three touchdowns on 84 attempts in eight games. His efficiency and familiarity with coach McDaniel's scheme could make him an attractive option for the Dolphins to bring back for the upcoming season.

With the possibility of Mostert also returning, the Dolphins' backfield could have a strong veteran presence. However, Grier's openness to drafting a running back earlier than usual could also indicate the team's desire to add some young talent to the position.

Regardless, Wilson's expressed interest in returning to Miami is good news for both him and the team. Photo Credit: JIM RASSOL/THE PALM BEACH POST / USA TODAY NETWORK
