Jaguars To Sign Free Agent RB Johnson

The Jacksonville Jaguars have reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year deal with free agent running back D'Ernest Johnson, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Johnson, who played for the Browns in his last four seasons, was a running back that bided his time behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt on the RB depth chart, but was ready when his name was called upon. His career season was in 2021 where he posted 100 carries for 534 yards, and three touchdowns.

However, the 27-year-old was limited in production last season as he only had four carries for 17 yards.

Johnson is looking for a comeback year at his now new home in Jacksonville for the 2023-24 season.
