New England Patriots Star Safety Officially Retires

The New England Patriots have been the most successful team in the NFL since the turn of the century, and they have had some incredible players over that time, and now, one of the last remaining multiple Super Bowl winners from their organization has officially announced his retirement.

That would be star safety Devin McCourty, who has been an integral part of this team and a leader on the defence for the past 13 years, and will go down as one of the most consistent players in franchise history.

Over that time, McCourty was a three-time Super Bowl Champion, a two-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All Pro and finishes his career with an impressive 35 interceptions, and now the Patriots will be looking at a massive hole on the back end of their secondary for the first time in quite some time.
