New Orleans Saints Alvin Kamara Has Trial Date Set

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit battery and substantial bodily harm stemming from a February 2022 incident.

The trial is expected to start on July 31.

The timing of the proceedings is scheduled for the same time as training camp, which could impact the running back's status to start the season.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network also stated that in the case Kamara is found guilty, he could very well face discipline from the league for the upcoming season.

Regardless, the twenty seven-year-old's status will remain questionable until a settlement is reached and/or the legal process plays out.

This past season, Kamara recorded 897 yards and two touchdowns on 223 carries along with 490 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 57 receptions.
