NFL Rumors: New York Jets Could Release Starting Safety

The New York Jets made a trade today, and while it's not the one that absolutely everybody in the NFL world was expecting, it was still a solid move, as they picked up safety Chuck Clark from the Baltimore Ravens in return for a seventh round pick in 2024.

The team is expected to let veteran LaMarcus Joyner walk into free agency without an offer when it begins next week, so it's likely that he could be a replacement, but today, it has been reported that this could be a move that leads to another, as Clark could step in for Jordan Whitehead.

It's certainly not been confirmed, but this would make sense, as Whitehead certainly didn't live up to expectations after signing a big deal last year in free agency, and now, it appears the Jets elite defence could go into 2023 with a new starting safety duo.
