NFL Rumors: Plenty of Teams Interested In Patriots Impending Free Agent CB

According to NFL Network's Mike Giardi, New England Patriots' cornerback Jonathan Jones is expected to draw a lot of interest as a free agent this offseason.

Giardi noted that most teams still view Jones as a slot CB, but he was impressive as an outside CB and, as a result, caught the attention of many teams.

This past season, the 29-year-old recorded 69 total tackles, three forced fumbles, four interceptions and 11 passes defended over 16 games.

He's entering his eighth NFL season and has spent his entire career with the Patriots, after signing with them out of Auburn in 2016.

Although the Patriots are reportedly interested in signing Jones to a contract extension before free agency begins next week, an agreement has not been reached yet. Talks are expected to continue throughout the week, but there is a chance that Jones may hit the open market and test free agency.

Despite this interest from other teams, bringing back Jones is a priority for the Patriots, who recognize his value as a top slot cornerback for the past six seasons and his ability to play multiple positions.
