Pending Free Agent Safety Suspended Two Games To Start 2023 Season

Not a great way to head into free agency.

Carolina Panthers reserve safety Sean Chandler has been suspended without pay for two games by the NFL for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The suspension comes as Chandler is set to hit free agency on March 15.

Despite the setback, Chandler could still provide value on special teams, having played in all 17 games for the Panthers last season and recording 19 tackles mostly in that role.

The 26-year-old will be eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games this year, but will miss the first two games of the 2023 regular season.

Over his five-year career, Chandler has recorded 93 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and two passes defended over 64 games. Photo Credit: Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports
