NFL Rumours: Los Angeles Chargers Star Requests Permission To Talk To Other Teams

The Chargers had a fantastic 2022 season, and even with the disappointing Wild Card weekend loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, there's still plenty of optimism around the organization about the future with Justin Herbert and this talented unit.

Unfortunately, they may be without one of their biggest stars in 2023, as superstar running back Austin Ekeler has officially requested to talk to other teams about a trade, as the contract extension talks have reportedly not been going the way he would have liked.

Chargers’ RB Austin Ekeler is requesting permission to speak with other teams about a potential trade after preliminary talks with the team aimed at a contract extension did not progress, his agent Cameron Weiss told ESPN.

It's unclear at this point whether or not the Chargers will grant his request, but it's not a good sign for a team that's finally showing progression that one of their biggest stars wants out, so we will see how this plays out in the coming days.
