San Francisco 49ers Sign Re-Sign Offensive Lineman

The San Francisco 49ers have announced that they have re-signed offensive lineman Colton McKivitz to a two-year extension through the 2024 season.

McKivitz was set to become a restricted free agent, but he has opted to stay with the team instead of testing the market.

He has experience playing both tackle and guard positions and is expected to compete for the starting right tackle spot. With Mike McGlinchey likely to depart in free agency, the 49ers may look to bring in a cheaper option via free agency or load up on the position in the upcoming NFL draft.

McKivitz was originally selected by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft and has appeared in 28 games over the last three years, with five starts to his name.

The West Virginia University alum made 47 starts during his collegiate career.

With this extension, the 49ers have secured one of their free agents and added depth to their offensive line.
