Bills Re-Sign DE Lawson

The Buffalo Bills have reportedly retained defensive end Shaq Lawson on a one-year deal, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Lawson, a key defense lineman in 2022-23, played in 15/16 games for the Bills last season. He recorded six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and 31 combined tackles. Lawson also suited up for Buffalo's two playoff matchups in January, and concluded his campaign by playing on 44 percent of snaps for his New York club last season.

The 28-year-old Clemson product was originally drafted by the Bills as a first-round selection (19th overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft. Buffalo declined his fifth-year option, which granted Lawson free agency in 2020 where he would sign a three-year deal with the Dolphins on March 21, 2020 and played one year in Miami. He was briefly traded to the Texans before the Jets acquired his services for the 2021 season, and rejoined Buffalo for his second stint last year.
