BREAKING: Cleveland Browns Young Defensive Tackle Arrested For Assault

The Cleveland Browns controversial young defensive tackle is in hot water yet again.

Browns defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey has been arrested for a misdemeanor assault charge in Texas. According to reports, Winfrey allegedly caused bodily harm to a woman he was dating. The Browns are aware of the situation and are gathering more information.

This incident adds to concerns about Winfrey's behavior, both on and off the field. During his rookie season, he faced criticism from Browns star Myles Garrett for not behaving professionally and had disciplinary issues with the team for immature behavior.

Additionally, Winfrey suffered a concussion while riding a scooter, causing him to miss three games.

Despite these concerns, the Browns had high hopes for Winfrey after drafting him in the fourth round of the 2022 draft. He had recorded 22 tackles and 0.5 sacks during his disappointing rookie season.

Winfrey had said that he had turned a corner and was expected to attend the team's voluntary offseason program next week.

The Browns will likely continue to monitor the situation closely and make any necessary decisions based on the outcome of the legal process, but this definitely puts a damper in his NFL future. Photo Credit: Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports
