NFL Rumors: 17-Year Veteran Free Agent Tight End In "Talks With A Few Teams"

Veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis, who tied the record for the most seasons played by a tight end in the NFL with his 17th year in 2022, is determined to continue his career.

Despite being 39 years old, Lewis believes he still possesses the skills and ability to be a reliable contributor for the right team.

Lewis, known for his exceptional blocking abilities, has amassed over 5,000 receiving yards and 39 touchdowns throughout his impressive 17-year career.

He remains healthy and confident in his abilities, stating that his skills have not declined over time.

Although there is currently a lack of teams in need of a tight end, Lewis's agent is in talks with several teams, patiently awaiting the right opportunity.

While he may have to wait until training camp or later to receive a call, Lewis appreciates the privilege of playing for such a long time and acknowledges the hard work and dedication that have brought him to this point.

As he awaits his next opportunity, Lewis remains hopeful and optimistic about finding a team for the upcoming season. He recognizes the value he brings as a mentor and run-blocking specialist and is eager to contribute to a team in need of his skills and experience.

Over his extensive career, Lewis has amassed 432 receptions for 5,084 receiving yards and 39 touchdowns across 251 games played. Photo Credit: Wm. Glasheen/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wis / USA TODAY NETWORK
