BREAKING: Dolphins Complete Blockbuster Trade With Jalen Ramsey
The Pittsburgh Steelers have pulled off another massive offseason move, acquiring All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Miami Dolphins.
According to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Steelers not only completed the trade but also adjusted Ramsey’s contract, giving him a $1.5 million raise to bring his 2025 salary to $26.6 million. It’s the latest all-in swing by Pittsburgh, who previously added DK Metcalf and Aaron Rodgers in a clear push for a Super Bowl in 2025.

The Dolphins, meanwhile, shed a significant cap commitment by trading Ramsey after June 1, limiting their dead cap hit to $6.7 million. While Miami GM Chris Grier emphasized that Ramsey didn’t request a trade, both sides agreed that a parting was best. Ramsey leaves Miami after just two seasons and 27 games, tallying five interceptions, 82 tackles, and 16 passes defended during that span.
Pittsburgh’s Secondary Now Looks Like One of the NFL’s Best
By adding Ramsey to a unit that already includes Pro Bowler Darius Slay and breakout star Joey Porter Jr., the Steelers now boast one of the most formidable secondaries in the league. Ramsey, even at 30, remains a dominant shutdown corner and brings playoff experience and leadership to a defense that will be key to Pittsburgh’s championship aspirations.

As a part of the trade, Ramsey will get a $1.5 million raise this season, bringing his 2025 compensation up to $26.6 million.

In 2024, Ramsey played in all 17 games and posted 60 tackles, two picks, and 11 pass breakups despite coming off a preseason knee injury. His presence immediately shores up what had been a question mark in Pittsburgh's defense and completes a dramatic overhaul of the roster led by head coach Mike Tomlin.
Dolphins Reset as Steelers Go All-In for 2025
While the Dolphins now face the challenge of filling the void left by Ramsey, Pittsburgh is loading up for a win-now campaign. With Aaron Rodgers likely entering his final season, the Steelers’ aggressive front office has signaled that it’s Super Bowl or bust.
For Miami, cornerbacks like Cam Smith, Jason Marshall, and Storm Duck will battle for the opportunity to replace a future Hall of Famer.
