New York Giants Sign 4-Year Veteran Wide Receiver

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins runs with the football during 2025 game.

The New York Giants have brought back a familiar face, signing wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins off the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad.

Hodgins, who spent the last three seasons in New York, will provide much-needed depth to a banged-up receiving corps ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Hodgins Returns to Familiar Territory

Hodgins previously appeared in 28 games for the Giants, catching 56 passes for 593 yards and seven touchdowns.

His best stretch came during the team’s 2022 playoff run, when he caught eight passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Wild Card win over Minnesota, becoming the first Giants player with a 100-yard postseason game since Hakeem Nicks in Super Bowl XLVI.

The 27-year-old last played in November 2024 before spending time with the San Francisco 49ers and Steelers.

Reinforcements for a Shorthanded Offense

The Giants are thin at receiver, with Darius Slayton sidelined by a hamstring injury and Malik Nabers out for the year. Tight end Daniel Bellinger is also battling an injury, leaving quarterback Jameis Winston short on experienced targets as he prepares for his first start of the season.

Hodgins’ familiarity with the playbook could make him an immediate contributor.
