Former NFL First-Round Pick Says He Played Drunk For Half A Season
Quentin Jammer just dropped one of the wildest NFL confessions you will hear all year.
The former first-round pick says he played “completely” drunk in at least eight games during the 2011 season.
Quentin Jammer says he played drunk in eight 2011 games
Jammer, who spent the bulk of his career with the then San Diego Chargers, said the drinking was tied to a divorce he was going through at the time.
He started 15 games in 2011 for a team that finished 8 and 8 under Norv Turner, and he claimed he played well in all but one of the games where he was under the influence.
True story……. In 2011 I played completely shit faced drunk in at least 8 games

He also made it clear he was not chasing headlines, he was trying to be vulnerable and speak to people who are struggling and feel boxed in.
In the 2011 season, Jammer recorded 53 total tackles, one fumble recovery and eight passes defended across 15 games played.
What Quentin Jammer’s admission means now
Jammer pushed back at the idea that fans only want the shock and not the message, stressing that life problems do not stop because you are in the NFL, paid well, or playing on Sundays.

Jammer also said he is sober now, and even if some people are going to focus on the chaos of the story, he seemed more intent on owning it publicly so it stops having power over him.
