NFL Rumors: Ex-Commanders WR Deebo Samuel Linked to AFC West Team
Deebo Samuel is one of the top wide receivers who is still available for the taking. Yet, when noting that the 30-year-old has a strong resume and is still a solid player at this point in his career, it is very likely that he will end up finding a new home before the season is here.
Samuel spent this past season with the Washington Commanders. In 16 games with Washington on the year, he had five touchdowns, 72 receptions, and 727 receiving yards. With numbers like these, he is still capable of making a difference, and that should lead to him generating interest as the offseason carries on.
When looking at teams that would make sense as landing spots for Samuel, the Kansas City Chiefs stand out in a major way.
It is no secret that the Chiefs need to add another wide receiver, and bringing in a veteran like Samuel would make sense for them because of it. He would give them another solid option to work with on offense and could thrive after getting a change of scenery in Kansas City.
After how this past season went for the Chiefs, they should not be afraid to boost their roster by taking a chance on Samuel. It will be interesting to see if they do just that, but the fit looks strong on paper.
