4 Teams Interested In Free Agent Terrion Arnold

Terrion Arnold may be closer to a second chance than anyone expected.

Despite facing serious felony charges, the former Detroit Lions first-round pick has drawn interest from four NFL teams since his release, according to his agent Nicole Lynn, who testified in a court hearing on Friday.

Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Lynn said the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, and New York Jets have all reached out about Arnold, and that there is a "very good likelihood" he signs with a team within the next 45 days.

The Workouts And Visits

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Arnold had a physical with the Texans on Thursday and was scheduled to visit two other teams the following week.

Each of the interested teams could use cornerback depth, and they are likely viewing this as a chance to land a young, talented defender on a cheap contract.

The Colts, in particular, make sense despite being stocked at the position, as Indianapolis was forced to play nine different cornerbacks for at least 100 snaps last year due to injuries to Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward.

The Player And The Case

Arnold was the 24th overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Alabama, where he was an All-American and All-SEC performer.

He started 22 games across two seasons in Detroit, recording 31 tackles and an interception last season before a shoulder injury ended his year.

The Lions released him in late June after he was arrested on eight felony charges, including four counts of armed robbery and four counts of kidnapping, stemming from a February incident in Tampa.

Prosecutors allege Arnold orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men he wrongly suspected of stealing luxury goods and cash from him, though he was not present when the crimes were carried out.

He faces a potential sentence of up to life in prison and has denied involvement.

Arnold was released on $1 million bond and is subject to home confinement, with exceptions for work and legal matters, and notably was not required to wear a GPS tracker after his lawyers argued it would interfere with his ability to sign with a team.

The number of interested teams is surprising given the severity of the allegations, but NFL history shows teams are often willing to gamble on troubled players when the on-field upside is significant.

The Seahawks kick off the 2026 season against the Patriots in 61 days.
