NFL Exec Proposes Blockbuster 1-For-1 Brian Thomas Jr. Trade

An NFL executive's idea for fixing Marvin Harrison Jr.'s trade market now has a proposed trade attached to it.

NFL Blue Book's Charles Robinson canvassed seven front offices about Harrison's value, and most landed around a Day 2 pick.

One GM saw it differently.

"He is a player that is getting judged relative to what he was supposed to be, while people are losing sight of the fact that he is still a useful player," the GM told Robinson.

That executive pointed to the Titans trading defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat for Jets edge rusher Jermaine Johnson as the model, a straight player swap between two guys who'd simply fallen out of favor in their own schemes.

The same GM then named Jacksonville's Brian Thomas Jr. as exactly that kind of fit for Harrison.

Two Careers Trending In The Same Direction

Thomas and Harrison were both first-round picks in 2024, and both have seen their roles shrink under new circumstances.

Thomas broke out as a rookie with 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns, but he's fallen outside Jacksonville's core offense since Liam Coen arrived as head coach in 2025. Through three games this season, he's caught just seven passes for 88 yards and no touchdowns.

Harrison's drop-off has been even steeper. After 885 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, he managed only 608 yards last year, and he's been targeted just nine times through three games in 2026.

Both players also carry matching fifth-year option decisions due by May, projected at $18.95 million for Harrison and $17.2 million for Thomas.
