Garafolo Confirms Detroit's Interest
"Sounds like he's got a lot of interest from multiple teams in need of a cornerback because of depth reasons and injury reasons," Garafolo said on The Insiders. "The Lions amongst the teams that have checked in on Kenny Moore. I'm expecting the veteran former Pro Bowler to sign with a team in the very near future."
Moore has been available since the Colts released him back in May, a cost-cutting move that came after Indianapolis and Moore mutually agreed to explore a trade in early April that never materialized.

He spent all nine of his NFL seasons in Indianapolis after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Valdosta State in 2017, developing into one of the league's steadiest slot cornerbacks along the way. His lone Pro Bowl selection came in 2021, when he racked up four interceptions and 13 passes defended, and he finished his Colts tenure with 88 career pass breakups and 21 interceptions across 132 games, 111 of them starts.
Despite being undersized at 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, Moore has remained one of the better run-defending cornerbacks in the league in recent years, posting a PFF run-defense grade that ranked fifth among all corners as recently as last season.
The Secondary Problem Detroit Needs To Fix
The Lions have surrendered a combined 621 passing yards and six touchdowns through their first two games, needing overtime to escape New Orleans with a 31-30 win after blowing a 21-0 lead, then getting blown out 41-31 by Buffalo in a game that was never particularly close.
Making matters worse, safety Avonte Maddox suffered a foot injury during that loss to the Bills, adding to a secondary that's already missing both Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph, who opened the season on the reserve/PUP list and aren't expected back until at least Week 5.
Defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard isn't believed to be facing any real job pressure yet, but continued struggles through the middle of the schedule could change that conversation in a hurry.
Moore, now 31, has said publicly that he's specifically looking to land with a contender at this stage of his career. "I'm at the perfect point in my career where I really want to win, and hopefully that comes with a team that has the culture, the scheme set up for me," he said back in June.
