Trade Talks Heating Up Around Jaguars' Brian Thomas Jr.

League execs are sensing the end for Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr. in Jacksonville as his targets and playing time have dipped, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who ranked him No. 2 on ESPN’s top-25 list of trade candidates with Matt Bowen.

ESPN put his chance of being traded before the November 10 deadline at 45 percent and listed the Chiefs, Steelers, and 49ers as fits.

From Rookie Star To A Fading Role

Thomas topped 1,200 yards as a rookie in 2024, then fell to 48 catches for 707 yards and two touchdowns last season under new head coach Liam Coen.

He has nine catches on 18 targets for 105 yards and one touchdown through six games this year.

Thomas is 24 and in the third year of a four-year, $14.38 million rookie contract.

Jacksonville traded for Jakobi Meyers at last year’s deadline and signed him to a long-term deal, and ESPN’s previous offseason list had Thomas at the top of its trade candidates with just a 20 percent chance of moving.

The Three Fits

Kansas City has been calling around for receiver help after injuries to Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton.

Pittsburgh is also expected to make a move or two and Thomas has been named as one to watch for the Steelers.

San Francisco lost Mike Evans to an Achilles injury in the first half of its win over Washington last week, and it previously lost De'Zhaun Stribling as well.
