Dolphins Could Trade 3 Veterans Before Deadline

The Miami Dolphins are 0-5 coming out of their bye week, and three veterans are showing up on deadline lists: defensive tackle Zach Sieler, right tackle Austin Jackson, and linebacker Josh Uche.

CBS Sports’ Carter Bahns listed all three as players Miami could move before the November 10 deadline, and Casino.org’s Jason La Canfora named Sieler and Jackson in his October 6 column.

The Rebuild Makes Veterans Expendable

Miami is in the first year of a rebuild under coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, with the NFL’s youngest roster and a record $183.67 million in dead salary-cap money this season.

The Dolphins already moved Jaylen Waddle to Denver in March for the No. 30 pick, a third-round pick, and a fourth-round pick, so the team has shown it’s willing to turn a recognizable veteran into draft capital.

Bahns wrote that Jackson “is off to a rough start as the 71st-rated offensive tackle among 72 qualifiers, per PFF, but tackles are always in demand. He would be an affordable half-season rental.”

He added that Sieler, at 31, “is much older than the defensive pieces the Dolphins plan to build around,” and that Uche “is the strongest candidate of the three to re-sign with Miami, but even that is no guarantee.”

Sieler could bring in an early Day 3 pick, while Jackson and Uche would likely draw fifth- to seventh-round picks.

Sieler Says He Wants To Stay

Sieler addressed the speculation in front of reporters Monday, and when asked whether he’d be open to being dealt to a contender, he made his position clear.

“I know people say rumors or talk, or whatever, this time of year, but you know, I’m here focused playing games here to win for the Dolphins, man,” Sieler said.

“I love it here. I’ve been here for how long? I want to win here as a Dolphin.”

Sieler is a seventh-round pick from 2018 who has been with Miami since 2019 and signed a three-year, $64 million extension in August 2025, and he has no guaranteed money remaining after this season.

He had two double-digit sack seasons but a down 2025 and a quieter 2026, and the Packers, Giants, and Jaguars have been floated as possible landing spots.

Jackson is in the final year of his contract with a void in 2027, which means Miami would have to re-sign him to keep him, and he’s in his seventh season.

Uche signed a one-year deal in March and has 20 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery through five games while playing 63 percent of the defensive snaps, and his $1.2 million cap hit would be easy for any contender to absorb.

The trade deadline is November 10.
