Report: Teams Making Trade Calls On Vikings' Wide Receiver

Teams have checked in on Minnesota Vikings receiver Jauan Jennings ahead of the November 10 trade deadline, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Matt Bowen put the chance he’s traded at 50 percent.

Why He’s A Candidate

Jennings has four catches on eight targets for 43 yards in five appearances for the 6-0 Vikings, and he caught two passes for 34 yards in Sunday’s win over the Colts.

Jennings is not a focal point of the offense and is considered a trade candidate leaguewide, and his one-year deal makes him a low-cost option for teams looking to add to their receiver room.

He signed with Minnesota in May on a one-year, $8 million contract that can reach $13 million with incentives, so a buyer would be adding a rental with no commitment past January.

He’s a consistent route runner who plays through contact, and Jennings had 643 yards and nine touchdowns for the 49ers last season.

The Fits And The Return

ESPN lists the Rams, Falcons, and 49ers as fits, and Fowler wrote the 49ers are an obvious one, which fits with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport naming San Francisco as a logical partner on October 13.

The Rams are without Davante Adams, who is expected to miss six to 10 weeks, but they have only about $206,000 in cap space, which complicates a deal.

Minnesota could use a running back with Aaron Jones dealing with an MCL sprain, and the projected return is a conditional 2027 sixth-round pick and/or backfield help.
