Tennessee Titans Reveal Trade Price For Calvin Ridley

The Tennessee Titans would need something like a fifth-round pick to part with wide receiver Calvin Ridley, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who described Ridley as a fallback option for teams that miss out on their top receiver targets.

What Tennessee Would Be Moving

Ridley signed a four-year, $92 million contract with the Titans in March 2024, and agreed to restructure that deal in March, and the changes included an $11 million pay cut.

Injuries limited him to seven games last season and ended his year with a broken fibula, and the Titans used the fourth overall pick in this year’s draft on Ohio State receiver Carnell Tate, which has changed Ridley’s role in the offense.

He has produced before, with a 1,374-yard season in Atlanta in 2020 and 1,016 yards with the Jaguars in 2023, which is why a contender would see a veteran with a track record at a low draft cost.

So far this season, the 31-year-old has just six catches on 13 targets for 91 yards and no touchdowns. Last year, he had 17 receptions for 303 yards across seven games, and the two years prior to that, he put up 1,000+ yard campaigns.

Why A Fifth-Round Price Makes Sense

A fifth-round asking price puts Ridley in the range of a depth move rather than a blockbuster, obviously, which fits Fowler’s description of him as a backup plan for teams that lose out on their first choice.

Tennessee gave up nothing to keep him around this year, but his health and the size of his contract mean the Titans are unlikely to get much more than a mid-to-late pick for him.

Fowler also noted the Titans do not plan to move safety Amani Hooker despite some interest, so Ridley is the Tennessee veteran he named as available at a price.
