NFL Rumors: Giants Open To Trading Running Back

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen has made it publicly known that he is willing to listen to trade offers regarding Saquon Barkley.

After finishing last season with a 4-13 record, it's clear that the Giants could use some changes to their roster. They would like to free up some money, so it isn't surprising to hear that they are open to moving Barkley. However, there certainly is a risk in doing so.

When Barkley arrived in the NFL, he was absolutely fantastic. In 16 games, he had 11 touchdowns to go along with 1,307 yards. With this strong of a campaign, he was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year and made his first Pro Bowl. It was a dominant year for him, but he has yet to replicate those totals. In fact, over the last two seasons, he has only played 15 total games and recorded just two touchdowns.

Although Barkley has had injury trouble and has struggled a bit because of it, there is always the chance of him finding his old form with a new team. Therefore, if the Giants do move him, they will want a strong return. It will be interesting to see if a team is willing to give them one.
