NFL Rumors: Panthers Looking To Add Quarterback

The Carolina Panthers are currently weighing all of their options when it comes to the quarterback position. According to Panthers GM Scott Fitterer, he wants to add one more to their roster before the start of the 2022 season.

Although Fitterer noted that he would be open to a Cam Newton reunion, he is also looking at other options around the league. This offseason's QB market has shrunk immensely since the start of it, but there are two notable names available via trade in Baker Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo. At this juncture, their names haven't come up in the sweepstakes, however.

The Panthers are trying to improve from a rather disappointing 2021 season. They finished the year with a 5-12 record and were at the bottom of their division. The QB position was one of their major weaknesses, so if they can make a significant splash before the season, it would be ideal. If not, Sam Darnold will likely be their QB1.

Nevertheless, this is something to keep an eye on as we get closer to the regular season.
